Starting college is a significant milestone not only for students, but for their families as well. As you help your student begin this exciting new chapter, we invite you to be part of the journey.

FAMILY DAY

Join Multiply Church Concord, the host location for SEU Carolina, for a Sunday Morning church service. SEU Carolina prides itself in championing higher education where Christ is lifted up at the center of it all.

  • Arrival 10:45am (guest reception, coffee and pastries)

  • Service 11:15am (special reserved seating)

  • Lunch 12:30pm (located at The Gatherin Place across from the auditorium)

After church, we will have a family lunch at 12:30pm with faculty, staff, and administrators in The Gathering Place (conveniently located across from the auditorium). RSVP HERE

STUDENT HANDBOOK

ORIENTATION

  • An in-person orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 9:30 am- 12:30 pm on campus at SEU Carolina. This is mandatory for all students, including remote, hybrid, and traditional on-campus students.
    A Zoom link will be provided for remote and hybrid students.

  • If you are so excited about school that you just can't wait, you may want to check out the virtual orientation SEU has prepared just for you.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE

  • To kick off the year, SEU Carolina is putting on 10 events in 10 Days to commemorate our 10 Year Anniversary and celebrate your return to school.

  • Welcome Week is a great place to get to know other students and build lasting friendships.

  • Welcome Week Events are August 22 - September 1

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

While there are many things that happen on campus, here’s a quick look at the regular moments that repeat every week.

CAROLINA LIVING

Multiply Church, our host partner, owns several houses that are conveniently located on campus.

  • Students will receive housing assignments on or before August 1

ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN

  • All students living on campus in housing must complete the following before move-in

BALANCES

  • Balances for housing are paid online. To Make a payment, click here. Reference your invoice to know what you need to pay.

  • If you are unable to pay your outstanding balance for housing, then start a payment plan. Payment plans are now available online.

Dining on Campus

DINING HALL

  • Meals are served on campus at SEU Carolina in Suite 30 12:30-2:00pm Monday-Thursday starting Wednesday, August 26

  • To access the dining hall menu, click here

  • Our full-service kitchen prepares 60+ meals during the semester, which are included in the traditional on-campus benefits package. Remote and Hybrid students are welcome in the dining hall but will need to pay out of pocket.

DIETARY CONCERNS

  • Students with certain dietary concerns need to complete this form and schedule a meeting with the head chef. This will help us meet your needs.

RESTAURANTS ON CAMPUS

  • SEU Carolina has a dozen different restaurants on campus

  • Restaurants include Subway, Mochica, Cookout, Waffle House, Arbys, Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell, Breakfast Time, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Sonic and Chick-fil-A

VISA MEAL CARD

  • Traditional on-campus students will receive a VISA meal card at orientation on Tuesday, August 25 during Welcome Week with $150 on the card

  • This VISA card will be reloaded at the start of each semester on or before add/drop

  • Traditional on-campus students will receive a VISA meal card at the academic orientation on Tuesday, August 25

Academics

LET’S GET TO CLASS!

  • Academic Convocation & Orientation will be in the Tom Whidden Library on Tuesday August 25 from 9am to 12:30pm

  • The first day of class is Wednesday, August 26

  • All of our classes will be held in person

  • All classes will be offered in our Academic Center, located in Suite 40 on campus. For the most up-to-date list of our courses, including days, times, and locations, click here

COURSES

  • Students will get access to their courses through MyFire two weeks before the first day of school.

  • All students must complete something known as Student Acknowledgment before add/drop on September 1 to prevent getting dropped from registered courses

BOOKS

  • New incoming traditional on-campus students will receive their course materials from SEU Carolina for the courses they are enrolled in for the first eight weeks. Students will receive books at the Academic Convocation during Welcome Week

  • You can see what books you need for class by visiting the SEU Lakeland Bookstore and using your student ID number or by using the course code

POLICIES

  • Students can only miss 2 classes a session per block schedule for classes offered twice a week before incurring penalties

  • Students can only miss 1 class a session for classes offered once a week before incurring penalties

Spiritual Formation

MIDWEEK CHAPELS

  • The first chapel of the fall semester will be Tuesday, September 1

  • There are 16 chapel opportunities on campus this fall

  • Staff chapel is the first Tuesday of every month at 8:30am in Suite 5. Join us as we worship with the faculty and staff of SEU Carolina and the Multiply Family of Churches. And after chapel, join the staff for breakfast.

CHAPEL SCHEDULE

  • Devotions with the SEU Carolina Chaplain are every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday at 8:30am at different locations on and off campus. Make sure to check your seu email to stay up-to-date.

  • Prayer Service is the fifth Tuesday of the month at 8:30am in the Prayer Center in Suite 95 on campus

  • Students receive a chapel credit for every spiritual formation event they attend. Traditional on-campus students are required to have at least 14 chapel credits by the end of the semester

Practicum

Ministry, Missions, Worship Majors

Students who are enrolled in ministry, worship, or missions majors and desire to be on staff at a church one day serving in vocational ministry are required to complete 3 hours with the University in Sermon Writing and Pastoral Development

  • Sermon Writing Tuesdays Class 7 11am-12:30pm

  • Pastoral Development Tuesdays Class 7 11am-12:30pm

Communication and Digital Media Majors

All communication, digital, and mass media majors are required to complete 3 hours with the University as part of their practicum development

  • Sessions will be weekly on Wednesdays from 2-5pm in the University Offices

New Incoming Students

All new students will complete Practicum 101 before beginning their practicum

  • Sessions will be weekly on Mondays from 2pm-3:30pm

Returning Students

Students who are returning need to register for what practicum they wish to take before September 1
