Welcome Week

Welcome Week is one of the most memorable experiences that our traditional on campus students have at SEU Carolina. This will mark the beginning of the academic year and your first steps into, perhaps, the greatest four years of your life. During these events before the start of classes, you will get introduced to campus life, have a chance to make friends, and get to know the Student Development staff who will be guiding you through your journey here. Make your reservations before July 31and don’t miss out on the greatest time of your life.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR NEW STUDENTS

CHECK-IN APPOINTMENTS

Before August 1, students living on campus should all have their housing assignments and check in times for move in day on campus. If you are not fire ready or you have not paid your housing bill, then you will not be able to move in. If you do not have your housing assignment or move in time by August 2, please contact Director of Enrollment, Sara Games at sagames@seu.edu

ONCE ON CAMPUS

When you arrive on campus, you will go to your assigned student housing to complete your check in process and move into your room.

EARLY ARRIVALS

Early arrivals are only permitted by request only for special circumstances. Students that qualify will receive specific instructions regarding their check-in. Early arrival check-in days and times will still be by appointment only.

ORIENTATION WILL BE AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

This year, orientation will take place in three sessions. The first will take place during our Family Day lunch in suite 75 at the Multiply offices. The Second will take place in suite 75 followed by Stars & Strikes. The third and final orientation event will take place on campus.

Saturday, August 10

EVENT 1: Move In Day

Location: Student Housing On Campus

Who is this for? Students living on campus

Start the semester off right by moving in student housing. We have 2 houses on campus that our students will be calling home this academic year. They are as follows (55 2nd Street NW & 51 2nd Street NW). On move in day, you’ll get to tour your residence, meet your new roommates, and get comfortable in the new place you will call home.

Sunday, August 11

EVENT 2: Family Day & Campus Celebration

Location: Multiply Church, Concord Campus 11:15 am

Who is this for? Campus wide include faculty & staff, all students, and their families

Join Multiply Church, the host location for SEU Carolina, for a Sunday Morning church service. SEU Carolina prides itself in championing higher education where Christ is lifted up at the center of it all. Following the 11:15am service, enjoy a pig pickin on campus as we cut the ribbon and dedicate our new facility. Tour the facility..

Monday, August 12

EVENT 3: US National Whitewater Center

Location: USNWC, Charlotte, 10 am - 5 pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

If you like whitewater rafting, zip-lining, mountain biking, kayaking, and rock climbing, then you don’t want to miss this event. All traditional on-campus students will get an all-access activity to all things awesome at the Whitewater Center. Whitewater rafting will be the main event for the day. Prepare to get wet and have fun.

 

Tuesday, August 13

Event 4: Staff vs. Students Kickball / Orientation Event Part 1

Location: SEU Carolina Campus Suite 40

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students as well as Multiply Staff

Join us at 9:30 am on campus for your first Orientation Event on campus. Remember to bring your laptops. Following our orientation session, you will not want to miss out on a game of kickball with the staff at Multiply Church. We will be meeting at the baseball field behind the multiply office at 11:15 am, bring some comfortable shoes and your game face! Lunch will be provided following the event.

 

Wednesday, August 14

EVENT 5: Bowling at Stars & Strikes / Orientation Event Part 2

Orientation: SEU Carolina Campus 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Bowling: Stars & Strikes in Concord NC 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

Join the fire fam at Stars & Strikes for a fun time of bowling. Before the fun, we will be on campus with Dr. Aaagard for our orientation on all things academics. TThis is a required event for all traditional on-campus students. Remember to bring your laptops.

 

Thursday, August 15

EVENT 6: River Jam Concert at USNWC

Location: USNWC, Charlotte, 7-10 pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

There’s nothing more awesome than an outdoor concert under the stars at the Whitewater Center. Concert performance is from 7-10 pm and it’s a down-to-earth performance you’re not gonna want to miss.

 

Friday, August 16

EVENT 7: Baseball at the Cannonballers Stadium

Location: Kannapolis Cannonballers Stadium, 7pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

Enjoy an evening at the ballpark as we watch the Cannonballers play the Charleston River Dogs. After the game the night sky will light up with a fireworks show.

 

Saturday, August 17

EVENT 8: Monster Truck Bash

Location: Monster Truck Bash at the Charlotte Motor Speedway 6:30pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

Join us at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Dirt Track for a night of shrills and thrills. Get up close and personal with some of the fiercest monster trucks on the road. Tailgating event will take place in the parking lot before the event.

Sunday, August 18

EVENT 9: Backyard BBQ

Location: Pastor Kevin’s Home, Concord, 6-9pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

What’s more Carolina than a backyard cookout? Pastor Kevin, our Academic Director for SEU Carolina, is opening his home for a backyard cookout. Get ready for some down home Carolina vibes and southern hospitality under the stars.

 

Monday August 19- Tuesday August 20

Event 10: Beach Retreat at Fort Caswell

Location: Fort Caswell on Oak Island

Who is this event for? Traditional on campus students

Wrap up welcome week with a beach retreat to Fort Caswell on Oak Island. Orientation Part 3 will also take place on this retreat so be sure and bring your laptops.

 

Wednesday August 21

Event 11: First Day of Class

Location: SEU Carolina Campus

Who is this event for? All Students

Get ready for the first day of class. On Wednesday August 21, all classes are in session. Enjoy the school year!
