Welcome Week

Welcome Week is one of the most memorable experiences that our students have at SEU Carolina. This will mark the beginning of the academic year and your first steps into, perhaps, the greatest four years of your life. During these events before the start of classes, you will get introduced to campus life, have a chance to make friends, and get to know the Student Development staff who will be guiding you through your journey here. There are many events available to students… whether your experience is traditional on-campus, hybrid, or remote… there is something for everyone during Welcome Week.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR NEW STUDENTS

CHECK-IN APPOINTMENTS

Before August 1, students living on campus should all have their housing assignments and check-in times for move-in day on campus. If you are not fire-ready or you have not paid your housing bill, then you will not be able to move in. If you do not have your housing assignment or move-in time by August 2, please contact Director of Enrollment, Sara Games at sagames@seu.edu

ONCE ON CAMPUS

When you arrive on campus, you will go to your assigned student housing to complete your check in process and move into your room.

EARLY ARRIVALS

Early arrivals are only permitted by request only for special circumstances. Students that qualify will receive specific instructions regarding their check-in. Early arrival check-in days and times will still be by appointment only.

ORIENTATION WILL BE AT ACADEMIC CONVOCATION

This year, orientation will take place on Tuesday, August 25. Make sure and follow the welcome week schedule as days/times may change.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22

Move In Day

Location: Student Housing On Campus

Who is this for? Students living on campus

Start the semester off right by moving in student housing. We have 2 houses on campus that our students will be calling home this academic year. They are as follows (55 2nd Street NW Directions & 51 2nd Street NW Directions). On move in day, you’ll get to tour your residence, meet your new roommates, and get comfortable in the new place you will call home.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 23

Family Day & Lunch (Directions)

Location: Multiply Church, Concord Campus 11:15 am

Who is this for? All Campus

Join Multiply Church Concord, the host location for SEU Carolina, for a Sunday Morning church service. SEU Carolina prides itself in championing higher education where Christ is lifted up at the center of it all.

• Arrival 10:45am (guest reception, coffee and pastries)

• Service 11:15am (special reserved seating)

• Lunch 12:30pm (located at The Gathering Place across from the auditorium)

After church, we will have a family lunch at 12:30pm with faculty, staff, and administrators in The Gathering Place (conveniently located across from the auditorium).

MONDAY, AUGUST 24

Frankie’s Fun Park (Directions)

Location: Charlotte, 2pm - 5pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on-campus students

If you like shrills and thrills of arcades, laser tag, mini golf, and go karts, then this event is for you.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25

Academic Convocation (Directions)

Location: SEU Carolina Campus, 9am - 12:30pm, Classroom 3, Tom Whidden Library

Who is this event for? All Campus (required attendance)

Academic what? Convocation!? This is an informal event marking the official start of the academic year. At this event, we will recognize the students who will be graduating, welcome new students, and make sure everyone has a great start to the semester with some orientation deets.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26

First Day of Class (Directions)

Location: SEU Carolina Campus

Who is this event for? All Campus

Get ready for the first day of class. On Wednesday, August 26, all classes are in session. This includes both in-person and online courses. Enjoy the school year!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 27

Volleyball Tournament - (Directions)

Location: Corning Shelter at Frank Liske Park, Concord NC

Time: 5pm-7pm

Who is this event for? All Campus

Join Sara Haley and the Young Adults from Multiply Church for an afternoon of Volleyball at Frank Liske Park (Park Map) in Concord, NC. Get to know the Multiply Young Adult team, grab a bite to eat, and just have fun. Event will be located at the Corning Shelter.

Carowinds Amusement Park (Directions)

Location: 14523 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273, 10 am - 10 pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on-campus students

If you like roller coasters, then this next event is for you. Enjoy the shrills and thrills of Carowinds, a 407-acre amusement park that straddles the state line between North and South Carolina.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 30

Backyard BBQ (Directions)

Location: Pastor Kevin’s Home, 35 Liske Ave NW Concord NC 28027

Time: 6-9pm

Who is this event for? All Campus

What’s more Carolina than a backyard cookout? Pastor Kevin, our Academic Director for SEU Carolina, is opening his home for a backyard cookout. Get ready for some down-home Carolina vibes and southern hospitality under the stars.

MONDAY, AUGUST 31

Monday Matinee Movie (Directions)

Location: SEU Carolina Regional Campus, Student Cinema

Time: 2pm

Who is this event for? Traditional on-campus students

Join us on campus at SEU Carolina for a Matinee Movie! Popcorn, treats and more.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

All Staff Chapel (Directions)

Location: Multiply Concord Church, Suite 5

Time: 8:30am

Who is this event for? All Campus

Join us for our first chapel on campus with all the staff on campus. Breakfast will be served following the chaple service.
